Air conditioners rarely fail at a convenient moment. Financing through Wells Fargo Retail Services lets you replace a system now and spread the cost, subject to credit approval.
How It Works
Total Comfort is an approved dealer with Wells Fargo Retail Services. Applications, credit decisions, interest rates and payment terms are handled by the lender, not by us.
That distinction matters. We can tell you what the equipment and installation will cost, and we can point you at the application. We cannot tell you what rate you will be offered or whether you will be approved, because that is the lender's decision based on your credit.
Financing exists for a specific situation: a system has failed or is close to it, replacement is the right call, and paying the whole cost at once is difficult. Spreading it makes the work possible now rather than in six months. What it does not do is make the system cheaper. Credit costs money, and a repair you can pay for outright is usually better value than a replacement you finance, which is why we would rather diagnose properly first.
Being Straight About It
Worth thinking about before you apply rather than after.
The system is dead or failing in a Florida summer, replacement is genuinely needed, and waiting means weeks without cooling. Spreading the cost solves a real problem.
You have paid for three repairs in two years on ageing equipment. At that point financing a replacement can cost less over time than continuing to repair.
Financing a new system purely for energy savings rarely pays back once interest is included. If the current system works, the numbers usually do not support it.
If the actual fault is a capacitor or a contactor, finance is the wrong conversation entirely. Get a diagnosis before anyone discusses payment plans.
The Process
Financing comes late in this sequence, not early.
A licensed technician establishes what has actually failed and whether repair or replacement is the better value.
Equipment, installation and the total, in writing. You need this figure before applying, and it commits you to nothing.
Outright or financed. If financing suits, the application goes to Wells Fargo Retail Services rather than to us.
Approval, rate and term come from Wells Fargo. Read the terms they disclose before accepting.
Once approved, installation is scheduled. Load-calculated, permitted to code, and tested under load before we leave.
Common Questions
Wells Fargo Retail Services. Total Comfort is an approved dealer, which means we can direct you to the application, but approval, interest rate and payment term are all decided by the lender based on your credit.
We deliberately do not quote rates or promise approval, because we are not in a position to know either.
Typically the larger projects: full system replacement, heat pump installation, ductwork replacement, whole-home dehumidification and indoor air quality systems.
Small repairs are not usually what financing is for, and if a technician suggests financing a minor repair that is worth questioning.
Yes, and it is the sensible order. You need to know the amount before applying for credit to cover it, and a written quote gives you that.
A quote commits you to nothing. Plenty of people get one, decide to pay outright, decide to repair instead, or decide to wait. All of those are fine outcomes from our point of view.
No, and it is worth being clear about that. Financing spreads a cost, it does not reduce one. With interest included, the total paid is higher than paying outright.
What it can do is prevent a worse cost: continuing to pay for repairs on a failing system, or living without cooling through a Florida summer. Where a new system genuinely lowers running costs those savings are real, but they rarely offset finance charges on their own. Anyone telling you a financed replacement pays for itself in energy savings is overselling.
Credit decisions through the online application are generally quick, often the same day, though that is the lender's process rather than ours.
Once approved, installation is scheduled around parts availability and your availability. If you are without cooling we treat that as urgent, and we would rather get a temporary solution in place than have you wait on paperwork.
In the application and the credit agreement from Wells Fargo Retail Services. Rates, term length, minimum payments and any promotional conditions come from them and are disclosed during the process.
Read them before accepting. We are HVAC contractors rather than financial advisers, and for a decision about credit you should be relying on the lender's documents and your own judgement rather than on us.
