Your evaporator coil makes condensate continuously through a Florida cooling season, so it stays damp for months. UV-C aimed at that surface controls growth where it starts. Aimed anywhere else, it mostly does not.
The Straight Answer
Air purification treats what is circulating. Coil purification treats where it comes from. In Florida the evaporator coil is the origin point, because continuous condensate through long cooling cycles leaves it damp, and a damp surface in the dark grows mould, mildew and biofilm.
That distinction matters commercially as well as biologically. Biofilm on the coil insulates it, restricts airflow across it and reduces heat transfer, which is the same efficiency penalty a dirty coil causes, arriving by a different route. So a UV-C lamp aimed at the coil is doing two jobs: protecting the air and protecting the equipment's performance.
But all of that depends on one thing, and it is the thing most often got wrong. UV-C only treats what it physically reaches. A lamp that does not shine on the coil face is close to decorative, however good the product on the box.

How We Work
The order matters. A lamp is a way of keeping a clean coil clean, not a way of cleaning a dirty one.
The coil face and condensate drainage examined directly, which decides whether this is a cleaning job, a prevention job, or both. Sometimes the honest answer is cleaning alone.
Established buildup removed before anything is fitted, so the lamp starts from a clean surface rather than spending its life fighting a backlog it cannot win.
Lamp output and length chosen against the actual coil dimensions and cabinet layout, because a lamp too small for the coil leaves parts of it untreated and quietly undermines the whole exercise.
Sighted on the coil face, enclosed within the air handler so the light stays contained, and electrically integrated properly. Enclosure is a safety requirement, not a detail.
Airflow checked after installation, then the install date and replacement interval labelled on the unit so the protection you paid for does not quietly lapse in two years' time.

When installed correctly, yes. The lamp sits enclosed inside the air handler or ductwork, so the light is contained within the equipment and there is no exposure during normal operation.
